Step 5 “Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being......”
This and That Reminders
Housekeeping asks/reminders:

Cleaning Tables: In the interest of continuing with “good practices” we would also request that tables continue to be wiped down after each meeting.

Patio Umbrellas: Thank you all for remembering to close the patio umbrellas when not in use and during windy conditions. This will be especially true as we move into the summer months with near daily wind and rain.

Cookies and Snacks: This is a gentle reminder to discard any uneaten cookies/snacks after each meeting. They attract ants. Ants are not our friends.

A note from the President:
I continue to be inspired by the collaborative way in which this Board of Directors functions. We exchange emails, we speak on the telephone, and we meet for committee meetings to discuss various possibilities. Then we come together once per month to discuss all manner of topics pertaining to the YANA Foundation. We discuss, debate, and engage on a regular basis. All our interactions are courteous, respectful, and professional. We allow one another to offer opinions and we work on issues.....together.
From the Board:
It seems that many of our friends have returned to their Summer-homes. We are all very appreciative of the support given us by ALL of our members and we are committed to making YANA a year-round place of serenity and recovery.
Many Meetings........Many Chances
Few Meetings..........Few Chancess
No Meetings............No Chances
STEP 5 HUMOR
Honest; "Telling your neighbor you took his rope"
Rigorous Honesty: "Tell your neighbor you took his rope and his cow was attached."
House Committee:
The Board has decided to work with an architect or professional design service to get a holistic plan for the master floor plan and get quotes from 3 vendors.
AI-Anon:
Tradition 5. “Each Al-Anon Family Group has but one purpose; to help families of alcoholics. We do this by practicing the Twelve Steps of AA ourselves, by encouraging and understanding our alcoholic relatives, and by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics.”

Marc M.Elected to Board in 2021 and President in 2022. I moved to Fort Myers in 2007 after growing up in the Philadelphia area. I have been regularly attending meetings at YANA since January 2016 and became a member of the Sunday Night Speakeasy group right away. Outside of AA and work, I spend most of my time restoring my 115-year-old house. It is an honor to serve on the board and be part of such a pivotal place and community.
Chris D.I am a retired general surgeon from Pittsburgh, PA who has been a snowbird member of YANA for over ten years, moving here permanently last year. I'm a member of the Daily reprieve group. I am also on the board of Gateway Rehab in Pittsburgh and have been for about ten years. I am pleased to serve as Assistant Treasurer.
Steve W.I retired in 2013 and relocated to Florida from our home in Natick, MA. I first attend ACoA in 1984 and continued attending Al-anon while practicing the principles daily. My sobriety date is April 30, 1990, and I have been active ever since. I have held numerous group positions. I have always participated in my group’s commitment to providing speakers at other meetings, detox centers, and prisons. I credit the programs of AA and Al-anon with giving me a second chance at life and enabling me to become the person my HP intended.
